First of all, lemme apologize if I'm not looking at your art and journals. It's just that dA is really slow and stressful with its new layout, and I will get to it when I have less PMS.

But anyway, on insights....

Who are you? Maybe you identify yourself with what you think everyday. It's gotten into such a deep rut and such a deep cycle that suddenly you think well, [insert name here]-thats who i am, a worrywart...I worry about my homework and what my crush thinks of me and how i can get revenge on so-and-so and I am afraid of such-and-such....

Now imagine a lump of black clay and you sculpt it into one of those little beanie stick dudes. That is the shallow embodiment of all this constant whirlwind of thoughts. Isn't there something more? Isn't there something greater about you? Maybe this opaque little dude-figurine is a small silhouette within an enveloping, larger, glowing shape of yourself.

And maybe the shape ISN'T just some big translucent "you" that halos around the small dude-figurine. Maybe it's....EVEN MORE!! The entire air, the entire atmosphere, the entire galazy, universe, that's who you TRULY are but for some reason you feel secure limiting yourself and believeing yourself and all your potential and abilities and thoughts reside within this constructed little clay dude within you.

Better step on him before they throw him in the kiln and he becomes totally cooked solid. Realize you can expand yourself to infinity.

And not even yourself. Even that icky spider or mean person or bitter ex or intimidating task. Most people look at the events themselves. Like positive space in a photograph. But equally, forms are made by the [often] vast, empty negative space that shapes it and surrounds it.
